NEACSM Fall Conference "A Quest for Knowledge: From Research to Practice in Sports Medicine"

2016 Fall Conference Session Proposals Now Accepted (Deadline: May 12, 2016)- Th conference theme is “A Quest for Knowledge: From Research to Practice in Sports Medicine” with the mission to provide attendees an opportunity to gain knowledge from a wide variety of topics in the fields of sports medicine and exercise science. NEACSM leadership has gathered a diverse slate of keynote and invited speakers for a stimulating and educational conference. We anticipate inspiration from four previous Doctoral Student Scholarship recipients and several past and present NEACSM members as they present advances in their field of sports medicine. Abstract Submissions Now Accepted (Deadline: 5pm ET on September 9, 2016)- The primary focus and substance of submitted abstract must be novel. The abstract must not have been published or presented as an abstract or a full paper in a retrievable or readily available scientific, medical, or professional publication. Abstracts presented first at the NEACSM meeting may later be presented at another meeting, as abstracts will not be published. President’s Cup Poster Competition- The top abstract presented by a graduate student in the student competition at the 2016 Fall NEACSM meeting will be chosen to represent the New England chapter at the 2017 ACSM Annual Meeting in a poster competition! The winner will be awarded a $1,200 travel allowance and registration fee waiver for the annual meeting to be held May 30-June 3, 2017 in Denver, Colorado.
The research must be presented as a poster on Wednesday night (May 31, 2017) at the annual meeting. Awards and cash prizes will be given for the top three presenters there.
Student research will be reviewed and judged on the merits of the research, how the research is presented and the student involvement in both the research and presentation. President’s Cup winner may not necessarily be the same as the winner in the Master’s or Doctoral category due to different scoring criteria and eligibility.
Winning student MUST be a currently enrolled graduate student at the time of the 2016 Fall NEACSM Meeting and MUST be willing to present at the 2017 ACSM Annual Meeting.
