2020 Student Scholarships

The New England Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine is proud to announce that applications for the 2019 Student Scholarships are now being accepted. All students in the New England region are eligible for these scholarships. The scholarships are designed to highlight professional and academic excellence in undergraduate (Robert S. Axtell Undergraduate Scholarship), masters (Mark Connolly Memorial Masters Scholarship), and doctoral (Linda Pescatello Doctoral Scholarship) students in our region. Students can also apply for the Lawrence E. Armstrong Minority Scholarship and the Donna Murphy Service Scholarship. University faculty are asked to encourage qualifying students to apply for these scholarships. 

 

The criteria for these scholarships are outlined here. Scholarship winners will receive an award of $500 to $1000 and will be recognized at the NEACSM Fall Meeting, to be held October 15-16, 2020, at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

Please note that the NEACSM Cover Form must accompany all applications. 

Completed applications (all application materials and letters of recommendation) must be submitted via e-mail to neacsm1@gmail.com no later than June 15, 2020. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

The New England Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine is proud to announce that applications for the 2020 Undergraduate Research Experience Grants are now being accepted. Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2020. This scholarship is designed to highlight professional and academic excellence in undergraduate students attending non-R1 institutions in the New England states that have a strong emphasis on teaching but do not have the resources to support research endeavors. The scholarship can be used to help fund either research or expenses associated with presenting the research at the NEACSM Annual Fall Meeting. Please encourage students at your college/university to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship winners will receive an award of $500.00 in June 2020 and be recognized at the NEACSM Annual Fall Meeting in October 2020.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2019 New Investigator Award

The New England Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine is proud to announce that applications for the 2019 NEACSM New Investigator Award are now being accepted. NEACSM invests in the future of sports medicine and exercise science by offering a defined research underwriting opportunity to our professional members. Through this award, a junior scientist in the fields of sports medicine and/or exercise physiology will be recognized and receive support for potential scientific excellence. 

 

The winner will be announced by October 15th. The recipient of the New Investigator Award will receive an award of $2,500 and will be recognized at the NEACSM Fall Meeting, to be held November 7th and 8th, 2019 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

 

Completed applications must be submitted via e-mail to neacsm1@gmail.com no later than 5pm (EST) on August 5, 2019. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
