NEACSM provides many opportunities to support professional development and

student engagement and achievement!

  • The New Investigator Award ($2,500) invests in the future of sports medicine and exercise science by offering a defined research underwriting opportunity to our junior professional members. Applications are accepted June through August. 

  • The Honor Award recognizes a professional member who has provided significant contributions to both NEACSM and the field of exercise science. It is the highest honor bestowed by the chapter. Nominations are due by early July. 

  • Undergraduate Research Experience Grants ($1,000 each) highlight professional and academic excellence in undergraduate students attending non-R1: Doctoral University institutions. Applications are accepted late January through late March. 

  • Now Accepting Applications! NEACSM Scholarships ($1,000) celebrate student achievement. Applications are accepted April through late June. 

    • ​The Robert S. Axtell Undergraduate Scholarship Award supports and encourages professional involvement and academic excellence in undergraduate students.

    • The Mark Connolly Memorial Masters Scholarship Award supports and encourages professional involvement and academic excellence in Masters students. 

    • The Linda Pescatello Doctoral Scholarship Award supports and encourages professional development and academic excellence in Doctoral students.

    • The Lawrence E. Armstrong Academic Excellence Award supports and encourages professional development and academic excellence in students from racially marginalized groups.

    • The Donna Murphy Service Award recognizes an outstanding student who demonstrates extraordinary and sustained service to a genuine and worthy cause.

  • Student Investigator Awards ​($500) acknowledge the top competitors in Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Free Communications abstracts at the annual fall conference. Abstract submissions are accepted March through September. 

    • ​The President's Cup ($1,200) is awarded to the top graduate student competitor in the Free Communications abstracts at the fall conference.
